When a Staten Island mother and Kindergarten teacher discovers a five-year-old in her class is a prodigious poet, Lisa becomes fascinated, then obsessed, as she pushes farther and farther to protect him from his neglectful guardians, risking her career, family and freedom to nurture his artistic promise.

Written and directed by Sara Colangelo, based on the Israeli film Haganenet by Nadav Lapid. Stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Parker Sevak, Rosa Salazar, Anna Baryshnikov, Michael Chernus and Gael Garcia Bernal.

The film premiered in January 2018 at Sundance, where it won the festival’s directing award and sold to Netflix.
